Privacy policy
Last updated 16 September 2026
This page is the public privacy policy for Reisen Cyber Institute — the website and the Android app. Play Console and anyone on the web can read it without signing in.
01
Who we are
Reisen Cyber Institute is a school of Reisen Institute. The school site is https://www.reisencyberinstitute.com. The umbrella site is https://www.reiseninstitute.com.
Questions about this policy, your account, or membership go to support@reiseninstitute.com.
02
What this covers
It covers the website, the Android app (including ads on that app), Cyber Student and Cyber Expert membership, and the Reisen Institute account you use to sign in.
It does not cover other websites we link to, or the privacy policies of Google, Microsoft, Stripe, Google Play, or Google AdMob (ads in the installed Android app only).
03
What we collect
We collect as little as we need to run the school and the membership.
- Account. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft we receive your name and email so the same Reisen Institute account works on both school sites and in the app.
- Session. A signed-in session is stored in a cookie on your device (Auth.js / NextAuth). That cookie is not lesson progress.
- Progress. If you are signed in, XP, streaks, finished lessons, quiz scores, badges, chosen lane and course, Standards Desk views, favorites, lesson notes, missed-question ids, and streak-freeze week are stored with that Reisen email so the same leftover shows on every device you sign in on. A copy also stays in the browser or app as a cache. Sound mute and review unlock stay on the device. If you are signed out, progress stays on that device only.
- Membership. If you join Cyber Student or Cyber Expert we associate the subscription with that email. We see whether the subscription is active. We do not see your full card number.
- Support mail. If you write the school we see whatever you put in the message.
- Hosting logs. The website is hosted on Vercel. Their logs can include a technical address (IP), browser, and which page was requested. We do not use that as a student profile.
- Ads (installed Android app only). Google AdMob may use the device advertising identifier and technical data to show and measure a full-screen interstitial. That does not happen on the website or from Add to Home screen.
04
What we do not collect
We do not ask for a home address, phone number, date of birth, or government ID to take a lesson.
We do not upload every quiz tap. Signed-in accounts keep scores for finished lessons, not a keystroke log. Mute and review unlock stay on the device.
We do not sell personal information.
05
Sign-in (Google and Microsoft)
Sign-in is Google or Microsoft — the same account on reisencyberinstitute.com and reiseninstitute.com, and the same account in the Android app when that sign-in is connected.
We use that email to recognize you and to look up Cyber Student or Cyber Expert membership. We do not get your Google or Microsoft password.
You can revoke the app in your Google or Microsoft account settings. You can also sign out on You.
06
Payments
Learn stays free. Each Defend and Lead course opens the first five lessons for free. The rest is Cyber Expert. Cyber Student is a separate membership for favorites, notes, missed-question replay, a weekly streak freeze, and no ads on the Android app. Cyber Expert includes every Cyber Student perk.
On the website, membership is billed by Stripe Checkout and managed in the Stripe customer portal. Card numbers go to Stripe, not to Reisen Institute.
In the Android app, when membership is sold there, Google Play Billing processes that payment. We receive a subscription status, not your full card number. Until Play Billing is turned on, join and cancel on the website.
Optional owner or app-review testing can unlock a named email in our configuration. That is not a public form.
07
Account progress
When you are signed in, progress follows the Reisen account. Sign in on a second phone or computer and the leftover merges: finished lessons are unioned, the better score for a lesson is kept, and XP is the sum of those scores.
When you are signed out, progress is a leftover on the device you are holding. Clearing site data or uninstalling the app removes that local copy. Reset account progress on You if you want a clean slate on the signed-in account.
A review-unlock switch on a device only opens lessons on that device. It does not change anyone else’s path, your membership, or the account leftover.
08
Ads
The website does not show ads. We do not load Google AdMob JavaScript on the public site. Chrome in a browser, and Add to Home screen, do not show these ads.
The installed Android app (Play Store) may show a Google AdMob full-screen interstitial after every five finished lessons on that phone. Google draws the ad and Google’s own control closes it. That count is the same finished-lesson list Path and You already keep (the on-device cache of the account leftover when you are signed in). Ads are not how Defend and Lead unlock — that is Cyber Expert. Cyber Student or Cyber Expert turns those ads off.
AdMob may use an advertising identifier, approximate location inferred from the network, and other technical data to choose and measure a creative. We do not sell your email or lesson progress to advertisers. Google’s advertising rules for that identifier are on their advertising privacy policy.
09
Who we share with
We share only what a processor needs to do its job:
- Google — sign-in, Google Play for the Android app (distribution, and Play Billing when that is on), and Google AdMob for interstitial ads in the installed app only.
- Microsoft — sign-in when you choose Microsoft.
- Stripe — website membership checkout, customer portal, and subscription status.
- Vercel — hosts the website. If account progress storage is connected, Vercel KV (Upstash Redis) holds the signed-in leftover keyed by a hash of the email, not the email in the filename.
10
How long we keep it
The session cookie lasts until you sign out or it expires.
Stripe and Google Play keep payment records as their rules and the law require.
Signed-in progress stays until you reset it on You or ask us to close the account. Signed-out progress stays on the device until you reset it, clear site data, or uninstall the app.
Support mail we keep long enough to answer you and close the leftover.
11
Your choices
You can sign out on You. You can reset account progress when signed in, or local progress when signed out — that wipes leftover and keeps the account. How to do it without closing the account is on https://www.reisencyberinstitute.com/delete-data. You can cancel website membership from You → Manage membership (Stripe). You can cancel an app subscription from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
On Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in system settings, and use any privacy choice the ad network shows on the ad. That does not turn membership on or off.
Ask us to close the Reisen account from https://www.reisencyberinstitute.com/delete-account (no sign-in required). Write from the Google or Microsoft address on the account, subject Delete my Reisen account. You can also reach support@reiseninstitute.com if something looks wrong.
12
Children
The school is written for people learning IT and cybersecurity, including career students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 created an account, write support@reiseninstitute.com and we will close it.
13
Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Preview-only sign-in flags are ignored on the live site. Card numbers are not stored by us. Membership status is read from Stripe (or later Play), not from a second homemade database of cards.
14
Where this runs
The website is hosted in the United States on Vercel. Stripe, Google, and Microsoft may process data in the countries where they operate.
15
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new text here and update the date at the top. The public URL stays https://www.reisencyberinstitute.com/privacy.
Write the school at support@reiseninstitute.com. Back to the path.
